Craigslist will be your go-to website when you are searching for accommodation, part-time jobs, furniture and free stuff in Canada. From property agents to employers; everyone uses Craigslist in the major Canadian cities.

All apartments in Canada come unfurnished, so when a tenant is moving out, they sell their furniture on Craigslist - a lot of it is in great condition and there are many bargains to be found. Don’t forget to check out the free stuff section where you can pick up anything from a new sofa to a double bed frame!

6. IKEA, Canada

When you have found your ideal apartment, you will need to stock up on furniture and general household utensils. IKEA is the most popular store as it is cheap and offers everything that you need to fill out your new home. They have a great selection of beds, mattresses, tables, lamps and all of your usual kitchen utensils.

If you plan on moving to Vancouver, you might need to pick up some outdoor furniture for your balcony as the city has a warm climate for the Summer months. You should note that the warehouses are usually located on the outskirts of the city, so you might need to rent a car for the day or get your purchases delivered which can be costly (starting at $59.00).

And of course our very own website, which will help you to file your taxes during Canadian tax time:
