If you worked in any of these countries, you could be due a Tax Refund

How Are You Spending Your Tax Refund?

Not sure what to do with your tax refund? Get some inspiration from our Taxback.com teams Down Under.

We have 6 offices across Australia in Sydney, Melbourne, Cairns, Perth, Brisbane, and Darwin, so we asked team members from each of these locations what they plan to do with their income tax refunds.

Andrew in Melbourne:

"With my refund, even though it won't be that big as I haven't been working all that long, I plan to put it towards starting to race in the Australian Karting Championships over here as that's the main thing I miss from back home. So my refund will probably be spent on my first race in this country!"

Katie in Brissy:

"My refund is being invested in myself. I have signed up to a masters and this will be a great start to helping me pay for my fees! Don’t worry I would never be that sensible to spend it all on education – I will be sure to have a shopping splurge too!"

The average tax refund Down Under is AU$2600

Lisa in Perth:

"Tax refund time is here!! I plan to spend my tax refund on a trip home to Ireland for Christmas to see all my friends and family for the holidays. It will be great to be able to have the flights booked and out of the way over the next couple of weeks, I can't wait :-)".

Sergio in Darwin:

"End of tax year and again I have the opportunity to spoil myself with something I’ve always wanted to do but never got the money for...

Getting on a fishing boat heading from Darwin to international waters between Australia and Indonesia. There the fun will begin, a bunch of mad people from different countries trying to engage the best fight with the biggest marine creature they’ve ever caught before.

Being amazed by this beautiful animal jumping out of the water to show you their power made of a long sword and intimidating black sail. Only a few meters of nylon thread connects your rod to the prey and that is what could lead you to the best success or the bitter loss. Sunshine, sea and hard-core fun is what my refund will take me to this year :-)".

Brendan from Sydney:

"I am using my money to go to as many festivals as I can in Australia this year, Falls Fest, Rainbow Serpent, Blues Fest, Splendour, I’ll stretch it as far as I can!"

Last but by no means least……

Leanne (& Lily) in Cairns:

"I’m going to do my PADI open water course on the GBR and hopefully get another pug to keep my puppy Lily company! If you have yet to look into getting your application underway then pop into one of the offices and chat to our team''.

Don’t be shy -  tell us what you have planned for your tax refund?? We love getting emails from our clients updating us on what's happened since they have received their refunds. So email us or post a pic to our Facebook page and make us jealous!
