How to keep that beach body on a budget in Cairns

This 1.3km hike is a fantastic way to discover the rainforest and is suitable for all fitness levels, although be prepared to develop buns of steel! For the fitness enthusiasts that really love a challenge, they can opt to take on the 5.4km Blue Arrow, which starts at the half-way point of the Red Arrow. Once you reach the top of the Red Arrow, there are spectacular panoramic views of The Coral Sea and Cairns City, with benches and pergolas provided, it’s a great place to catch your breath and even have a quick chat before making your descent back down to sea level.

3. Exercise Stations on the Esplanade

Who needs to splurge on expensive gym memberships when the Cairns local council offers exercise stations up and down the esplanade.  Lucky things, aren’t we? These exercise stations were created to encourage a healthy and active lifestyle amongst locals and visitors, so let’s take advantage of them! 4. Stand Up Paddle Boarding

 So I’m guessing you’ve already showed amazing natural flair for surfing in Australia. Try the next big thing - stand-up paddle boarding. Cairns boasts a number of different paddle boarding companies that offer group lessons ranging from around the $40 mark. Once you get the knack of it, you can rent the paddle board and go off on your merry way in the clear blue crystal waters.

5.   Stroll around Rusty's Market at the weekend

Every Friday, Saturday and Sunday, hundreds of locals and travellers alike pay Rusty’s Market a visit where you can bag yourself great bargains in fresh local produce. Stroll around the 180 stalls, meet the local producers and keep healthy and happy.
