The winner of our US GAA Club Competition is...

We are delighted to announce that Charlotte James Connolly’s GAA Club has won the Taxback.com $2000 prize fund. Well done guys!

During the Championship play-offs in Chicago at the weekend, the draw took place. A big thanks to everyone who voted for their favourite club in our US GAA club competition. We got thousands of entries. It was pretty close in the end but Charlotte James Connolly’s came out on top to be the lucky recipients of $2k funding. That's a nice way to celebrate Labour Day!

The club were delighted to receive the prize and their Chairwoman, Jan Henry, expressed her delight at winning the competition, "we couldn't believe it when the announcement was made, every club is always searching for funding so when we saw this Taxback.com competition, we made a big effort to get everyone signed up. I think we had every person in the club signed up by the end. It’s also great to be officially recognised as the Best Club in the US!"

After a hugely entertaining weekend of action, the finals day took place on Sunday and the celebrations ran on long into the night for the victors in each division. In the main senior finals it was a day to remember for Chicago as Harry Bolands took the hurling title while McBrides won the gaelic football crown.  Our partnership with the North American GAA association offered this wonderful opportunity to be speak to J1 students who are enjoying a special summer in the US but also see first hand the hugely important role GAA plays in Irish communities across the whole of the USA.

We’re looking forward to hearing what they spend it on. And, speaking of money, if you’ve been working in the US, you could be due a US tax refund. Get your free tax refund estimation today!

The average US tax back we get for J1 students is $800
