Taxback.com Great Irish Bake for Temple Street

20 April 2015

It’s fair to say that more than a few of us in Taxback.com have a sweet tooth as there was a great response to the Great Irish Bake for Temple Street this week.

The idea behind the event was a simple one; bring in some baked treats and get people to make a donation to Temple Street in return for sampling them.

Temple Street very kindly sent us some cheerful yellow balloons, Great Irish Bake stickers and napkins to decorate our office.

On the morning of the Great Irish Bake, the fruits of everyone’s labour were clear to see. There was an array of mouth-watering treats including layer cake, carrot cake muffins, fairy cakes, strudel turnovers and some old-school favourites like Rice Krispie buns and Victoria Sponge. We all gathered together at 11am to sample the treats and applaud the efforts and expertise of everyone.

The Great Irish Bake for Temple Street has been a very popular fundraiser for the hospital since 2009 and has raised a staggering €500,000 through 2000 cake sales throughout Ireland.

This year’s proceeds are going towards building a new Neurology and Renal Outpatients Unit which will make a huge difference to the lives of 6,000 sick children and their patients. If you’d like to make a donation to Temple Street, click here.
